Why should we use an air purification system?

According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) studies of human exposure to air pollution indicate that indoor levels of many pollutants may be 2-5 times (and occasionally more than 100 times) higher than outdoor levels which causes particular concerns as it is estimated that most people spend as much as 90% of their time indoors.

We will personalize this newsletter somewhat by telling you of our experience with the Surround Air air purifiers. Our grandsons have been plagued with allergies and asthma since about 6 months of age. The now 3 year old would awaken from a sound sleep numerous times during the night in screaming cries, for no apparent reason. Every morning he would wake up completely stuffed up and usually in a bad mood. The now 6 year old has been through a myriad of allergy meds and monthly antibiotics and since the age of 2, has taken Allegra twice daily with all his other meds and breathing apparatus, not to mention the persistent dark circles under the eyes, continuous stuffy nose and incessant teeth grinding while sleeping.

When we began carrying the air cleaners by Surround Air at the Allergy Relief Center in January of 2004, we immediately sent three XJ-2000 units for the grand-children’s bedrooms and the XJ-3000 for the main area of their house. We now sound like a testimonial however this one is personalized. Two days after continuous use of the air purifiers, the 6 year old has yet to take an Allegra, gone is the constant sniffing, the teeth grinding has also disappeared. The 3 year old now sleeps through the night and awakens in good humor. The kids take the XJ-2000 with them on all road trips (using the car adaptor), for overnight stays in hotels, they never leave home without it! We also coupled our efforts to help find a solution to their health problems, other than medications, by sending the Pristine allergy bedding sheet, pillow and pillow case for the boy’s beds. We never stop being parents or grand-parents and it thrills us when we can still contribute to their well being.

Springtime allergies cause a reaction to environmental substances that are more prevalent during the particular season. People with spring allergies often have a reaction to trees, plants, grass, flowers and weeds that blossom during the season. With the springtime rains, mold allergies are also more prevalent during these months. Manifestations of seasonal allergies include sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose, scratchy throat and coughing that usually disappear during other seasons.

Contemplate Effective Measures:
*  Keep the windows closed and use air conditioning instead.
*  Avoid using fans as they stir up dust.
*  Change air condition filters and clean vents frequently during this season.
*  Wash bedding every week in hot water.
*  Use throw rugs sparingly in the home. Purchase washable throw rugs.
*  Clean surfaces often to avoid dust build-up.
*  Wash shower curtains and bathroom tiles to eliminate mold.
*  Remove clothing from the washing machine immediately to prevent molding.
*  Use dehumidifiers in basements or damp areas where mold may collect.
*  Keep the humidity in your home below 50%.
